boerd 'fragment II' visualiser A project for Anjunadeep

When boerd had a new single coming out for his Anjunadeep debut mini album, static, I was tasked with the creation of a visualiser to the track 'fragment II'.

The track felt very introspective, and reflective of times past. I wanted to mirror this in the visualiser, so I looked to create a seamless journey through fragments of glass that of drifted between nostalgic memories and feelings. Off-cuts of memories reflected in the glass that looped infinitely through the music.

It was all very abstract to begin with, formless shapes passing by a single track camera pan at a very shallow depth of field, with figures giving way every now and again. The project took several forms before I settled on this single 'take' motion. The idea that memories and thoughts are endless, and echo through time. Our perspectives on them change as we journey through our lives. Fragments of our lives that are never forgotten.

The project was just a delivery of the single track video, however, I really loved the visuals that we created and I decided it would be nice to share some of the unique 4K visuals that could perhaps have accompanied the track.

It was all created from scratch in Cinema 4D using Octane Render, Adobe After Effects and audio reacted to boerd's beautiful music.
